A Military Pilot's Caution in Flying Boeing Aircraft

In the wake of recent troubles plaguing Boeing aircraft, pilots, especially those with military backgrounds, find themselves exercising increased caution when taking to the skies. Among them is a seasoned pilot whose experience traces back to military service.

"It makes me take a little longer pause before stepping into the aircraft. Not out of fear of flying it, but to ensure I watch over it like an eagle," remarks Dannis Tajer, spokesperson for the Allied Pilots Association and an American Airlines pilot.

The most recent incident involved 50 passengers of LATAM Airlines sustaining injuries as a Boeing 787 Dreamliner suddenly plunged during a flight from Australia to New Zealand. The cause is under investigation but appears to be linked to technical issues.

Prior to this, a window of a Boeing 737 Max 9 operated by Alaska Airlines detached mid-flight in the United States. Subsequently, Southwest and Alaska Air have expressed concerns over their operations being disrupted due to Boeing's quality control issues.

"Essentially, every airline is struggling to ensure their plans aren't disrupted by Boeing's failures. And that changes every day," says Tajer, who now flies the Boeing 737.

Tajer once piloted the Boeing 707 for the United States Air Force during the Desert Storm conflict in Iraq. Despite his extensive experience, he finds himself contemplating the dangers of flight more than ever before, especially when operating Boeing aircraft.

"I was in the military, and Boeing aircraft saved me a few times during battles. Back then, the enemy was outside the aircraft. Now, it feels like the enemy is within the aircraft," he reflects, as quoted by CNBC.

As the aviation industry navigates these turbulent times, pilots like Tajer serve as a testament to the heightened vigilance and scrutiny required when entrusted with the responsibility of flying Boeing planes. submited by software enginneer
