The anticipation surrounding the release of Xiaomi 14 Ultra has finally culminated with the official announcement of its launch date, despite leaks having already revealed much about it. Not only that, but the appearance of this flagship phone has also been unveiled.
Via its social media platforms, Xiaomi has disclosed two significant launch events. Firstly, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be introduced in China on February 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM local time.
Three days later, precisely on February 25, 2024, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, marking its global debut.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is touted to bring forth a refreshing and comprehensive camera design. This phone boasts a curved screen, elegant and compact display, a more beautiful body, and an overall better balance.
It features a metal frame fully wrapped with exquisite details. With smoother lines and a better fit in the palm of the user's hand, according to the company. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra also showcases a sleeker classic camera ring design.
Complete specifications and pricing will be unveiled at the launch event. However, previous leaks have already disclosed much of this information.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a 6.73-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1440p resolution and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It will have HDR10+ support and an under-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
Powering it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery will have a capacity of 5,300mAh with support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
There are four 50MP cameras installed in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's camera setup. It consists of a main camera using a 1-inch sensor, ultrawide, telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom, and periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom.
The main and ultrawide cameras have apertures of f/1.6 and f/1.8 respectively, while the two telephoto units have an aperture of f/3.0. Sources claim the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is capable of recording 8K@24fps and 4K@24/30/60fps videos.
The phone also has the capability to record 1080p slow-motion videos at 1,920fps. For selfies and video calls, users can rely on the 32MP front camera capable of recording 4K videos.
Other features include NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, USB-C, and a dual-SIM slot. This phone comes in white and black colors with a vegan leather back and aluminum frame.
French blog Dealabs revealed that the rumored price of Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be around 1,499 Euros or approximately Rp 25 million. This price matches that of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra when it debuted in Europe last year.
