Accusations of the US Creating Internet Destroying Weapons, Russia Responds

The United States has claimed that Russia is attempting to develop outer space nuclear weapons that would destroy satellites by creating massive energy waves when detonated. Russia has responded to these allegations.

The Kremlin has dismissed the US warning about Moscow's new nuclear capabilities in space as "malicious fabrication" and a White House deception. Its aim is to persuade US lawmakers to approve more funds to counter Russia.

The US has informed Congress and its allies in Europe about new intelligence regarding Russia's nuclear capabilities, which are claimed to pose an international threat. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that they will not comment on the substance of the report until its details are disclosed by the White House.

However, he stated that Washington's warning is an attempt to get Congress to approve more funds. "It is clear that the White House is trying, by any means, to push Congress to vote on a bill to allocate funds, this is clear," he told reporters.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, a key figure in Moscow's arms control, accused the United States of engaging in malicious fabrication, as reported by Reuters.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during a visit to Albania that Washington is discussing this issue with its allies and partners. "This is not an active capability, but it is a potential that we take very seriously. And I hope we will convey more in the near future, so stay tuned for developments," he said.

Russia and the United States are the largest nuclear powers, both possessing about 90% of the world's nuclear weapons. They also have advanced military satellites orbiting the Earth.

Previously, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby referred to Russia developing space-based anti-satellite capabilities that have not been activated. Its capabilities were not specified, but according to analysts, the device is likely to be nuclear-powered, capable of blinding, disrupting, or 'frying' electronic devices within satellites, rather than a nuclear warhead that can explode.

Such new weapons, commonly known to space military experts as nuclear EMPs, would create electromagnetic energy waves and high-charged particle floods that would disrupt satellites orbiting the Earth.

Satellite disruptions can cause various damages such as disrupting communication and internet, surveillance, intelligence, as well as command and control worldwide, including in the nuclear field. Experts say the United States does not have the ability to counter such weapons.
