The Ultimate Fight: Tekken Stages Epic Comeback in 7th Installment of the Video Game Series

The Ultimate Fight: Tekken Takes an Epic Comeback in the 7th Installment of the Video Game Series

The critically acclaimed and highly popular fighting game series Tekken is making a comeback with its seventh installment in 2021 - Tekken 7. The game has been through a roller coaster of changes since its original debut in the arcades and consoles of the mid-90s, but it still maintains its flagship reputation as one of the premier fighting games today.

The first game in the franchise, released in 1994, took place in the kingdom of Mark and featured characters from an array of kung-fu action movies. It was praised as a unique entry into the genre as it didn’t follow the predictable pattern of games such as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat series. The success of this first game encouraged developers to create a sequel which included 3D graphics. The sequel shifted the focus of the game from martial arts to the street fighting culture, further setting it apart from the standard fighting game.

Tekken 3, released in 1997, allows players to fight in 3D, with a far greater number of characters with more complex fighting styles. This allowed for more strategic gameplay, as moves and combos could be developed in response to the opponent’s movements. This also allowed for variations in locations. New features included side-stepping and the introduction of an obstacle-filled arena called the“devil pit", making the fights increasingly strategic.

The fourth installment in the series, released in 2001, introduced the first tag team feature. This allowed players to control two characters at once in a 2-on-2style battle. This was also the first game to feature a true battle royale with characters from each of the previous games battling for supremacy.

The fifth game in the series, released in 2005, introduced a variety of new characters, including a vampire and a robot. The game featured more interactive and destructible environments and the introduction of Tekken Force. This allowed players to fight enemies with different objectives throughout several levels. This game also introduced customized clothing and the Spirit Gauge, which gives special attacks more power. Additionally, the game underwent a graphical overhaul, improving the visual effects and adding more details to the characters and environments.

The sixth game in the series, released in 2007, shifted the focus to a more cinematic experience. This installment featured improved graphics and new characters like the vampire girl, Zafina. It also introduced a 3rd-person camera mode and the ability to customize characters with different items and clothing. This game also introduced slow-motion effects during certain powerful attacks.

Since the sixth game in the series, there have been several other installments, such as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and the interactive movie series, Death by Degrees, which has been met with mixed audiences. These spin-offs have been largely successful but were not regarded as major titles in the series. Now, Tekken 7 is set to bring the Ultimate Fight back to the series.

Tekken 7 will feature the return of newer characters from previous games, with some more recent favorites, including Shaheen, Lucky Chloe, and Gig. Additionally, the game will also feature some special guest characters with their own unique movesets, such as Street Fighter’s Akuma and Street Fighter X Tekken’s Nina. The game will also be the first to feature an original story mode, which follows the timeline of the entire series from the first game to this sixth.

The game is being developed by Bandai Namco Games, a Japanese video game company founded in 1955 and known for their popular arcade titles such as Pac-Man. The game is set to bring back the classic mechanics of the series with a revamped 3D fighting system. The game also promises improved graphics and new levels of gameplay sophistication.

Tekken 7 is set to be the most ambitious installment in the series and will certainly be one of the most highly anticipated games of 2021. The game is already up for pre-order and promises to be the ultimate fighting game of the year. So buckle up and get ready to be thrown into the ring with the ultimate fight.
